ITMA's main objective is the promotion and dissemination of Information Systems and Technologies in the academy, organizations and society.

To pursue its objective, the Association may carry out any activities it deems necessary or convenient, namely:

a) Carry out diagnoses on Information Systems and Technologies and their insertion in society and the business;

b) Inform citizens, companies and other entities on issues relating to Information Systems and Technologies;

c) Support and develop activities that bring the benefits of Information Systems and Technologies to the greatest possible number of citizens and companies;

d) Promote and develop research in the field of Information Systems and Technologies and related areas;

e) Create and promote technical-scientific forums that promote links between academia, companies and society;

f) Create and promote technical-scientific publications within the scope of Information Systems and Technologies;

g) Create, promote and develop training within the scope of Information Systems and Technologies and related areas;

h) Promote and develop consultancy within the scope of Information Systems and Technologies and related areas;

i) Participate in associations, cooperatives, societies or other legal persons, provided that such participation is necessary or convenient for the pursuit of the Association's purposes;

j) Sign protocols and agreements with any entities that are willing to collaborate and pursue the purposes of the Association.
